Rice Township is one of the twelve townships of Sandusky County, 俄亥俄州, 美国. As of the 2000 census, 1,437 people lived in the township.[3]
地理
[编辑]Located in the northern part of the county along Sandusky Bay, 与以下镇区接壤:
- Salem Township, Ottawa County - 北
- Bay Township, Ottawa County - 北east, across Sandusky Bay
- Riley Township - 东南
- Sandusky Township - 南
- Washington Township - 西
- Harris Township, Ottawa County - 北west corner
No municipalities are located in Rice Township, but it does contain the unincorporated community of Kingsway.
Name and history
[编辑]Rice Township was established in 1840. It was named for Judge Ezekiel Rice, a pioneer settler.[4][5]
It is the only Rice Township statewide.[6]
政府
[编辑]镇区有3人组成的理事会管理。理事会理事选举在奇数年11月举行,并在来年1月1日开始四年任期。两名理事的选举在总统选举后一年举行,另一名的选举在总统选举前一年举行。镇区财务官亦由选举产生[7],与一名镇区理事选举同时举行,不过在来年4月1日才开始四年任期。若财务官或理事职位有空缺,将由剩余理事填补。
