Suffield Township is one of the eighteen townships of Portage County, 俄亥俄州, 美国. The 2000 census found 6,383 people in the township.[3]

Located in the southwestern corner of the county, it borders the following townships and municipalities:
- Brimfield Township - 北
- Rootstown Township - 北east corner
- Randolph Township - 东
- Lake Township, Stark County - 南
- Mogadore - 北west
- Springfield Township, Summit County - 西
- Tallmadge - 北west corner
Part of the village of Mogadore is located on land that was formerly part of northwestern Suffield Township.
Formed from the Connecticut Western Reserve, Suffield Township covers an area of 24 sq mi(62 km2).
Geographical features[编辑]
- Flatiron Lake Bog preserve (a 97-英畝(390,000-平方米) kettle hole bog formed about 12,000 years ago; maintained by The Nature Conservancy)[1]
Name and history[编辑]
Suffield Township was named after Suffield, Connecticut, the hometown of many its first settlers.[4]
It is the only Suffield Township statewide.[5]
政府[编辑]
镇区有3人组成的理事会管理。理事会理事选举在奇数年11月举行,并在来年1月1日开始四年任期。两名理事的选举在总统选举后一年举行,另一名的选举在总统选举前一年举行。镇区财务官亦由选举产生[6],与一名镇区理事选举同时举行,不过在来年4月1日才开始四年任期。若财务官或理事职位有空缺,将由剩余理事填补。
