Troy Township is one of the fourteen townships of Athens County, 俄亥俄州, 美国. The 2010 census found 2,617 people in the township,[3] 2,121 of whom lived in the unincorporated portions of the township.
地理[编辑]
Located in the southeastern corner of the county along the Ohio River, 与以下镇区接壤:
- Decatur Township, Washington County - 北
- Belpre Township, Washington County - 北east
- Olive Township, Meigs County - 南
- Orange Township, Meigs County - 南west corner
- Carthage Township - 西
- Rome Township - 北west
Wood County, West Virginia, lies across the Ohio River to the southeast.
The village of Coolville is located in central Troy Township, and the unincorporated community of Hockingport lies along the Ohio River shoreline.
Name and history[编辑]
It is one of seven Troy Townships statewide.[4]
In 1833, Troy Township contained several stores and mills.[5]
政府[编辑]
镇区有3人组成的理事会管理。理事会理事选举在奇数年11月举行,并在来年1月1日开始四年任期。两名理事的选举在总统选举后一年举行,另一名的选举在总统选举前一年举行。镇区财务官亦由选举产生[6],与一名镇区理事选举同时举行,不过在来年4月1日才开始四年任期。若财务官或理事职位有空缺,将由剩余理事填补。
