Union Township is one of the twenty-five townships of Muskingum County, 俄亥俄州, 美国. The 2000 census found 4,359 people in the township, 1,595 of whom lived in the unincorporated portions of the township.[3]
地理
[编辑]Located on the eastern edge of the county, 与以下镇区接壤：
- Highland Township - 北
- Adams Township, Guernsey County - 北east corner
- Westland Township, Guernsey County - 东
- Rich Hill Township - 南
- Salt Creek Township - 南west
- Perry Township - 西
- Salem Township - 北west corner
Two incorporated villages are located in Union Township: New Concord in the northeast, and Norwich in the northwest.
Name and history
[编辑]It is one of twenty-seven Union Townships statewide.[4]
In 1833, Union Township contained two post offices, four churches, one saw mill, and two physicians.[5]
政府
[编辑]镇区有3人组成的理事会管理。理事会理事选举在奇数年11月举行，并在来年1月1日开始四年任期。两名理事的选举在总统选举后一年举行，另一名的选举在总统选举前一年举行。镇区财务官亦由选举产生[6]，与一名镇区理事选举同时举行，不过在来年4月1日才开始四年任期。若财务官或理事职位有空缺，将由剩余理事填补。
