吕理燊

吕理燊(1932年2月25日—2011年10月11日)英文名Leu, Lii-Sin,国际知名植物病理学者。出生于台湾宜兰县罗东镇,逝世于台中。1954年毕业于台湾省立农学院(今国立中兴大学)植物病虫害学系;1957年毕业于国立台湾大学植物病理学研究所,获硕士学位;1967年毕业于美国威斯康辛大学植物病理学系研究所,获博士学位。曾任台湾糖业研究所副技术师及研究员,1974年转任台湾植物保护中心(今行政院农业委员会农业药物毒物试验所)农药应用系系主任。此外亦曾担任国际糖业技术学会之甘蔗病害组组长,植物病理学会植物保护学会理监事,杂草学会真菌学会理事长。

学术成就

长期以来致力于甘蔗病害、台湾重要花卉病害,热带及温带果树病害之研究与防治,另亦执行国际甘蔗抗病测定合作,真菌防治草蝉等甘蔗害虫之研究,有关甘蔗病害论文,就超过六十篇之多。花卉病害研究方面,菊花育苗推出植保素一号解决苗枯病之问题,促成菊花育苗专业化,并阐明菊花白色锈病病菌在台湾越夏之问题;此外亦解决唐菖蒲赤斑病及灰霉病用药问题,并进行土壤蒸气消毒解决百合黄化问题等之研究。果树方面,究明蕃石榴立枯病之绝对伤口寄生,系统性分布及病菌无法在土壤中生存;葡萄方面,费时十年功夫,建立防治历;草莓方面则推行育苗期防治白粉病及炭疽病;梨子方面亦从事综合防治历之建立,并首次发现世界新病害梨叶缘焦枯病,且协助政府解决东势、和平两乡镇交界处13K之病变问题。亦从事檬果(芒果)外销供果之问题,找出早期测定炭疽病及蒂腐病,田间则推出早期蔬果套袋等工作,隔绝病虫害并减少农药成本,颇有成效。

吕氏之研究成果,发表于国内外重要学术杂志,数量达一百四十余篇,均收录于1997年底出版的两册《吕理燊博士论文集》中。除了进行研究,吕氏亦首创作物病虫害诊断工作,随时随地替农民解决问题,足迹几遍全台,并替政府贡献良策。1997年退休后,继续担任农友种苗公司台湾花卉生物技术公司等处顾问。曾受云林县政府之邀,担任台日莴苣产销谈判的翻译,协助台湾蔬菜顺利输往日本。2011年再出版《吕理燊博士著作专辑》光碟片。光碟片中收录《吕理燊博士论文集》著作分类表,及《农业世界杂志》,〈作物病害防治之思维与实际〉的14篇论文全文。
