会议中遇到的维基人 Wikimedians I met
[编辑]
(Adopted from the WhatsApp message I sent) Hi all, I have just arrived to Taipei. Now I am on my way home through a not so cold air-conditioned shuttle bus. It was another transformative experience (even though not my weight part, the food there is so good and no sleep makes me keep eating those little clouds from @Kaarel Vaidla, ooops!) The appreciation from me to Wikimedia Indonesia to take the heavy responsibility and deliver it wonderfully is never enough. I believe this will be a legend in the region. First time is never easy, but it is definitely worth it. I wish I could put more effort in the preparation of this conference so I can release the pressure from the host team. I hope next time I can do better from my part. @Biyanto Rebin thank you bearing with me for the last minute slide. Your experience sharing regarding WikiLatih makes our session vivid and strongly related to the grassroots. Thanks to @Kacie Harold for taking care the grant part and make the cultural comparison pilot of cheering ice-breaker ;) Thank you @Punchalee Montriwat for helping me with the last session. The idea of using menti makes the whole session so elegantly productive! I hope there is more time to spend with all the Thai community (@Ball, @Athikhun, @Prangmilint Montriwat ) but two days are so short to complete my ambitious networking dream. I hope we can have more chance to learn from each other by the newly renovated communication channel for the news from our region! @Karika Sari Henry thank you for the design and monitor of the program, it is amazing how much effort you put behind the scene so the sessions can be proper documented and keep on time. I heard you are back to Australia to study, hope to see you soon! @Rahmat and @Lenni thank you so much for taking care of the logistics, you two are also the backbone to make the logistics stays well. And it is amazing to see the beautiful stationaries when needed! @吕美霞 thank you for working with @Kaarel Vaidla in the session before me, and also help me to pack the posters so I can bring them to Taiwan. I will use them in the community capacity building workshop next time! Also, thanks to all the Aussie (@Robert, @Chris, Jeremy, and @Tom Hogarth) to commit to the next regional conference. It is a promise that our chapter still can’t do but you are boldly taking it. Please let me know if I there is anything I can help, and I can’t wait to do the follow up of inviting Andy Mabbet! Then, I think it is also important to thank the participants from all the countries and regions: Thank you Philippine community (@Bel Ballesteros Bernas, @Jojit Ballesteros, @Irvin Sto. Tomas, @Maffeth, and @Butch Bustria) to come and show me the vibrant local languages and communities’ effort and how to overcome the challenge of “no standardization but must unite” situation. I learned a lot on your sharing of how to collaborate with local education system. I can’t wait to see @Butch Bustria come to Taiwan in the summer time and share about Wikidata and the good deeds you have achieved in Philippines! It was so much fun to see my awesome Korean neighbors too! @Gu, @Kangcheol Lee, @이정열, @Woosuk Park, it’s so inspirational to learn how you grow the local community step by step and your generous indication on what we can do if one wants to go to Andong and Daegu. I should learn more about Korean culture so next time I can understand better your joke or pun for the local knowledge, yeah~ It was also extraordinary that the endangered species are recorded and educated through Wikipedia + podcast. Thanks to @Mike Dickison for the talk and I hope the community in NZ and Maori can thrive. The Singapore / Malaysia / Brunei community is also a very interesting idea. I didn’t realize the regional relation in these areas are so connected. Hope for the best for you all to make more regional collaboration to promote Wikimedia Movement there, @Daniel Chong, @Taufik, and @Zulfadli! I hope next time we will see more people from Japanese Wikipedia too, it is a strong anonymous community so it might be difficult for them to show up, but I think there are a lot to learn from them and it definitely worth to try to invite more from the community, isn’t it, @Ney & @takot? Let’s make all ESEAP can adopted the idea of Wikipedia Town! Also my home Wiki Chinese community! Thank you @管啸 to take charge of the session on Wikipedia Asian Month. I wish I can help further in advance. Thank you for organizing the HongKong & Macau proposed new affiliate and your lightning talk of the Campaign(动员令), @Chung-ming Leung. And also my chapter members @林立云 and Reke to show the support of coming and sharing the experience from my community. There are others I wish I had a chance to chat in the conference - the Vietnamese community (@tuan & another guy? Maybe @Thang Hoang), the Myanmar community (@Zaw Thet Aung), the Cambodia community (@Anirudh ), the East Timor community (@Binsar De Jesus) and the local Indonesian Wikipedians’ experience (@Faishal @Isabella Apriyana @Rinto Jiang @Tjahja @Bonaventura Aditya @Dimas Hardijanto @Ivonne Kristiani @Nur Fahmia (Mia) @Raymond Sutanto @Amy @Idaman Andarmosoko ) Ah, the last but not the least, thanks to the participants from outside of the region, mostly WMF staff, to come and share the expertise and resources you may provide to make our region to prosper. The above mentioned @Kacie Harold @Kaarel Vaidla, and also @Ravishankar Ayyakkannu, @Nichole Saad, + Jan Gerlach. I can’t thank you enough to conquer the time zone difference and fly a long way to here! Let’s keep building Wikipedia Education Program, one of my favorite program, in the future, @Nichole Saad! I hope I am not missing anyone or mistaken facts. I will keep documenting and follow up for the short term. Let’s hope this pilot conference is just like the seed of a bamboo, so it will grow fast strong and with our own style! See you soon! |
