布莱恩·霍尔顿-里德

布莱恩·霍尔顿-里德（英语：Brian Holden-Reid，1952年—），英国军事史学家。

霍尔顿-里德曾就读赫尔大学、萨塞克斯大学、伦敦大学，并曾在北伦敦理工学院（英语：University of North London）及伦敦大学城市学院任教，1982年，他加入了伦敦国王学院的战争研究系（英语：Department of War Studies, King's College London）^[1] ，于1987年成为助理教授，1992年成为副教授，并于2000年成为正教授，在2001至2007年间担任战争研究系的系主任，2007年他获得了伦敦国王学院院士（英语：King's College London#Fellowship_of_King's_College）的头衔^[2]，这是该校给予其校友或职员的最高荣誉，他也在2010至2019年间担任学院理事会的成员。

霍尔顿-里德也是皇家历史学会（英语：Royal Historical Society）^[3]、英国皇家地理学会、皇家文艺学会及皇家联合研究所的会员，1984~1987年他在白厅成为了RUSI期刊（英语：RUSI Journal）的编辑，负责编辑RUSI的刊物如防御研究，1996年他成为了该期刊军事史的顾问编辑，而后他成为了该期刊的编辑委员会及众多其他期刊的成员。

1987至1997年，他成为了坎伯利参谋学院（英语：Staff College, Camberley）常驻历史学家（Resident Historian），并成为了整个世纪以来第一位担任指导参谋（Directing Staff）的平民，并协助设计了高阶指挥参谋课程，用以选出上校及准将以进行更高层级的任命。他也被授予美国陆军指挥参谋学院中高等军事学院（英语：School of Advanced Military Studies）的荣誉学位。

作为一位历史学家，他主攻南北战争，并与同时在欧洲发生的战争做连结。他也研究20世纪英国及美国的军事理论，尤其是J·F·C·富勒及B·H·李德哈特的理论。
