1897年阿萨姆地震是1897年6月12日发生在印度阿萨姆邦的强烈地震。这次地震造成建筑物严重毁损，超过1,500人死亡。
地震[编辑]
这次地震发生在印度板块北部边缘，由西隆高原奥尔德姆断层所造成[3][4]。主要断层破裂达11公尺（36英尺），最大滑动距离为16米（52英尺）[3]。滑动面积延伸180公里（110英里）之远，深度达9至45公里（5.6-28.0英里）。
破坏[编辑]
广达390,000平方公里（150,000平方英里）的砖石建筑遭到严重破坏，甚至有人认为受害面积应为650,000平方公里（250000平方英里），从缅甸延伸到新德里。许多不丹的建筑受到严重破坏[5]。
