皇家船長號

皇家船長號（英語：Royal Captain）是英國東印度公司的一艘商船，於1772年下水，1773年在南中國海觸礁沉沒。

中國航行[編輯]

愛德華·貝羅船長（英語：Edward Berrow (也拼写为 Barrow)）率船於1773年1月30日從英國朴次茅斯出發。經過南大西洋的聖海倫娜島，於8月23日到達中國珠江口的黃埔。^[1]

沉沒[編輯]

1773年12月，滿載10萬件中國商品（瓷器，茶葉，絲綢，玻璃製品，黃金等）以及6名乘客，啟程前往英國設在沙巴巴拉邦岸島（今馬來西亞邦耳島西側）的自由港，17日凌晨2:30在南中國海位於巴拉望島以西76公里的海域觸礁，此暗礁被命名為「Royal Captain Shoal」（皇家船長暗沙，即今天的南沙群島艦長礁）。 ^[2] 船員們努力挽救航船，但不幸於當天第三次觸礁，終於沉沒。除了三個船員溺亡外，所有船員和乘客倖存下來，^[3] 被另一艘英國東印度公司聯盟號（英語：Union）成功搭救。 ^[2]

發現與打撈[編輯]

1999年，在水下350米處發現殘骸，開始打撈。^[4] 2000年6月，發現頻道推出紀錄片「皇家船長號的寶貝」（英語：The Treasure of the Royal Captain）。 ^[5]
