代森錳是一種殺真菌劑。除此之外，代森錳還可用於創建因毒物導致的帕金森病靈長類模式動物。^[3]

2009年1月13日，瑞典化學品管理局在歐洲會議上提出一份殺蟲劑禁用名單並獲得通過，代森錳在其中。^[4]^[5]
