史密森尼學會博物館列表，本條目記錄美國史密森尼學會所運營和管理的各處博物館、藝術館及動物園，共計20座[1]，其中包括兩處分館。上述設施裏有17處位於首都華盛頓特區，其中的11處集中在華府國家廣場周邊。其餘3座分別地處紐約市和弗吉尼亞州。2016年，博物館當中最新的國立非裔美國人歷史文化博物館對外開放[2]。

史密森尼學會博物館的設立得益於英國科學家詹姆斯·史密森在1826年對美國作出的遺贈。史密森於1829年去世。1836年，美國總統安德魯·傑克遜將上述遺贈告知了美國國會，並為後者所接受。1838年，史密森總計超過50萬美元的遺產捐贈給美國鑄幣局，最終並成為美國財政部的資產。8年後的1846年，史密森尼學會成立[3]。

史密森尼學會大樓（暱稱「古堡」）落成於1855年，起初作為圖書館、化學實驗室、博物館及辦公機構使用[4]。早期的學會更關注科學研究而較少發展博物館事業。在第二任會長斯班瑟·拜爾德任內，學會從費城的百年博覽會中得到了60車的展覽品後，才將重點轉為博物館展示。學會將展覽的門票收入用於建設國家博物館，現更名為藝術及工業大樓。該設施於1881年開放，也是此學會第一個專門用於陳列展示收藏品的建築物[5]。

在1964年西德尼·迪隆·里普雷就任會長後，學會再次加快了發展速度。在他任內，學會旗下共增加8個博物館，每年參觀人數從1080萬人次增加到3000萬人次[6]。學會發展的黃金時期一直持續到里普雷退休的1984年[6] 隨着藝術及工業大樓的落成，學會名下的博物館共擴充至20家，收藏品逾1.37億件，涵蓋藝術品、自然標本及文化工藝品等[1] 現在學會旗下的博物館的每年總參觀人數約在2500萬人次以上[1]。

博物館列表[編輯]

史密森尼學會名下的博物館中，有11個集中在華盛頓特區的國家廣場周邊，近鄰林肯紀念堂和國會大廈[1] 。另有6個博物館和國家動物園也位於華盛頓市內。還有三處場館分別位於紐約市和弗吉尼亞州的尚特莉。

史密森尼學會也與美國其他41個州、巴拿馬、波多黎各等的171家博物館保持着緊密的合作交流[1]。上述博物館稱為史密森尼會員單位。學會與這些機構間建立了長期的展示品租借合作關係。除此之外，學會還不定期到美國各地的博物館進行50次以上的巡迴展覽[1]。
