CaBIG

caBIG(cancer Biomedical Informatics Grid,癌症生物醫學信息網格)是一個開放源碼,可自由訪問的系統,建立caBIG的目的是是使癌症研究人員之間有一個安全的數據交換信息網絡。這一項目最初由美國國家癌症研究所(美國國立衛生研究院的一部分)倡議,並由其屬下的生物醫學信息學和信息技術中心(CBIIT)提供支持與維護[1]。
項目起源
[編輯]2004年美國國家癌症研究所(NCI)啟動了caBIG(癌症生物醫學信息網格)計劃。該計劃的目的是統合位於不同地方、從事癌症相關生物醫藥研究的各個部門的資源,從而使獲得的數據類型多元化。該計劃由生物信息學和信息技術中心(CBIIT)牽頭,最初進行了3年的試運行,以測試其可行性。2007年3月試運行階段結束。目前,在56個NCI的指定癌症中心進行着caBIG工具軟件源碼的的試驗和應用。
