WiGig
WiGig是一套60GHz無線網絡協定，[1]包括目前的IEEE 802.11ad標準和即將推出的IEEE 802.11ay標準。[2]
WiGig技術規格允許裝置在不使用線纜的情況下進行數千兆的高速通訊，這將使高效能的無線數據傳輸、顯示和音頻應用成為可能，並可作為過去的無線區域網絡技術的互補。WiGig三頻段裝置可以在2.4GHz、5GHz和60GHz頻段上工作，最高可以以7Gbit/s的速度傳輸數據，幾乎與8個頻段的802.11ac一樣快。這相當於802.11n最高速率的11倍——但同時與現有的Wi-Fi裝置保持相容。60GHz的毫米波訊號通常無法穿透牆壁，但訊號可以被牆壁、天花板、地板和其他內建WiGig系統「波束成形」特性的物體反射。在漫遊離開主房間時，無線協定可以自動利用更低的頻段在低速下工作，比如2.4GHz和5GHz，這兩種頻段均可穿牆。[3][4]
WiGig這個名字來自於無線千兆聯盟，最初成立是為了促進IEEE 802.11ad的應用。現已併入Wi-Fi聯盟。[5]

- 2009年12月，推出了WiGig 1.0版技術規格。[12][13][14][15][16]
- 2010年5月，WiGig聯盟發表其技術規範，並且開始進行其應用計劃，以及公佈和Wi-Fi聯盟的聯絡協定，藉此合作延伸Wi-Fi技術。[17][18]
- 2011年6月，WiGig聯盟公佈了可以進行認證的1.1版技術規格。[17]
- 2012年12月，IEEE標準協會發表的IEEE 802.11ad-2012加入了IEEE 802.11家族。[19]
- 2016年，Wi-Fi聯盟推出了WiGig產品的認證計劃。[20]
