夏天的最後一朵玫瑰
《夏天的最後一朵玫瑰》(The Last Rose of Summer),或譯夏天裏最後一朵玫瑰,是愛爾蘭詩人托馬斯·摩爾創作的一首詩。1805年,詩人在愛爾蘭基爾肯尼郡的詹金斯頓城堡(Jenkinstown Castle)中創作了這首詩,並在1813年出版。這首詩可以以愛爾蘭傳統曲調《年輕人的夢》(Aisling an Óigfhear)演唱[1],這個曲調本身則是愛爾蘭民歌搜集家愛德華·邦廷1792年在貝爾法斯特豎琴音樂節上記錄下來的[2]。它在後世被貝多芬等音樂家廣泛採用[3]。

Left blooming alone;
All her lovely companions
Are faded and gone;
No flower of her kindred,
No rose-bud is nigh,
To reflect back her blushes
Or give sigh for sigh!
I'll not leave thee, thou lone one.
To pine on the stem;
Since the lovely are sleeping,
Go, sleep thou with them;
Thus kindly I scatter
Thy leaves o'er the bed,
Where thy mates of the garden
Lie scentless and dead.
So soon may I follow,
When friendships decay,
And from love's shining circle
The gems drop away!
When true hearts lie withered,
And fond ones are flown,

電影
[編輯]有多部電影作品的靈感來自這首詩,如1912年美國[5]、1920年英國[6]的同名默片。它還頻繁地出現在其它一些影視作品中,如1939年電影《春閨三鳳》中戴安娜·竇萍就演唱了這首詩[7]。
