威廉·紐贊·普賴爾·尼科爾森爵士（Sir William Newzam Prior Nicholson；1872年2月5日—1949年5月16日）是一位英國靜物、風景和肖像畫家，此外也當過版畫家、插畫家、劇院設計師，寫過兒童故事。

威廉·尼科爾森於1872年2月5日出生於特倫特河畔紐瓦克，是實業家和紐瓦克保守黨議員威廉·紐扎姆·尼科爾森（William Newzam Nicholson）和安妮·伊利沙伯·普賴爾（Annie Elizabeth Prior）的小兒子。他曾師從威廉·丘比利（William Cubley，威廉·比奇的學生），並短暫地在休伯特·馮·赫科默的藝術學校讀書，在那裏遇到了未來的妻子梅布爾·普賴德（Mabel Pryde）。1891年秋，他就讀於巴黎的朱利安學院，但六個月後返回紐瓦克[2][3]。1893年4月25日，他與梅布爾在萊斯里普結婚[4][5]。
從大約1910年到他1919年再婚為止，其管家瑪麗·拉奎爾（Marie Laquelle）是他的情人，尼科爾森多次為她畫像[3]。1919年10月，尼科爾森與約翰·斯圖爾特-沃特利爵士（Sir John Stuart-Wortley）遺孀伊迪絲·斯圖爾特-沃特利（Edith Stuart-Wortley）結婚，伊迪絲也是一名畫家。他們的女兒麗莎出生於1920年，尼科爾森的兒童讀物也都創作於1920年代。[6]
從1935年到他去世，尼科爾森與小說家瑪格麗特·斯蒂恩同居。根據斯蒂恩的說法，他們於1935年5月在安達盧西亞相遇，到6月中旬，他們就一起在傑明街的工作室同居了，但他並未與伊迪絲離婚。[7]
1936年，尼科爾森封爵[8]。晚年，他住在伯克郡（現牛津郡）的布盧伯里，1949年5月16日去世。[9][10]
