彼得·約翰·畢克爾（英語：Peter John Bickel，1940年9月21日—）是在加利福尼亞大學伯克利分校[1]工作的著名美國統計學家[2] 。畢克爾在橫跨統計學和概率論的多個領域做出了重大貢獻[3]，這些領域包括：非參數統計、魯棒統計量、漸進理論、函數型數據分析、自適應統計分析、自助方法和重抽樣方法、高維統計分析、統計網絡分析等等。他獲得了極多榮譽，其中包括：他是首屆考普斯會長獎（統計學最高榮譽獎項）獲得者，他是統計學家中極少數的美國藝術與科學學院和美國國家科學院兩院院士，他曾擔任伯努利學會和國際數理統計學會的會長。
生平[編輯]
畢克爾曾在加州理工學院學習物理學[4]，後轉往加州大學伯克利分校跟隨著名統計學家埃里希·萊曼(Erich Leo Lehmann)學習統計學，並於1963年(時年僅22歲)就取得了博士學位。[5]
畢克爾不僅是當代統計學領域公認的旗幟性人物[3]，還是一位出色的導師。他培養出很多優秀的學生，其中著名者包括(按畢業時間順序)吳建福、唐納德·安德魯斯、里托夫·雅科夫、范劍青、馬克·范·德·蘭、伊麗莎維塔·萊維娜等。
他1964年與南希·克雷默結婚；他們有兩個孩子。[6]
