Jackson Township is one of the nineteen townships of Guernsey County, 俄亥俄州, 美國. The 2000 census found 5,399 people in the township, 2,825 of whom lived in the unincorporated portions of the township.[3]

Located in the southwestern part of the county, 與以下鎮區接壤：

The village of Byesville is located in central Jackson Township.
Name and history[編輯]
It is one of thirty-seven Jackson Townships statewide.[4] According to "Stories Of Guernsey County Ohio" By William G Wolfe, published in 1943, The first attempt to establish a village in Jackson Township was made by Richard Dickerson, who started a village two miles south of the present location of Byesville on October 17, 1815. The town was given the name "New Liberty" and had a "diamond" in the middle formed by four intersecting streets- Main, Second, Third and Fourth. The site of the town is now a field. It was located between Wills Creek and the present Ohio State Route 821 and former U.S. Route 21. When early white settlers came here they found an Indian settlement called Old Town near the mouth of Trail Run. The houses were built of poles and logs, they were lined with wild animal skins.
Schools[編輯]
Children from Jackson Township would have attended these schools in the early to mid 1900's, Ideal School, Happy Dale School, Garfield School (A.K.A. Stop Nine School), Lincoln School, Central (High) School and Byesville High (Elementary) School. The current public schools of the township are made up from the Rolling Hills Local School District, Byesville Elementary School, Brook Intermediate School, Meadowbrook Middle School and Meadowbrook High School.

鎮區有3人組成的理事會管理。理事會理事選舉在奇數年11月舉行，並在來年1月1日開始四年任期。兩名理事的選舉在總統選舉後一年舉行，另一名的選舉在總統選舉前一年舉行。鎮區財務官亦由選舉產生[5]，與一名鎮區理事選舉同時舉行，不過在來年4月1日才開始四年任期。若財務官或理事職位有空缺，將由剩餘理事填補。
