蝘蜓中缢虫（学名：Mesodinium chamaeleon）是一种特别的生物，分类上是纤毛虫门中缢虫科中缢虫属的物种，但同时具有在生物学上动物及植物的特征[1][2][3]：它能够以其他植物为食，继而使用其叶绿体粒来生产能量。
本物种是由丹麦水生植物学家奥伊温德·莫斯特鲁普教授（Øjvind Moestrup）于2012年1月在丹麦的尼瓦湾（Nivå）海岸对出发现。
名称[编辑]
本物种的中文名称应该为“蝘蜓中缢虫”，但很多中文媒体都按其名称的拉丁文顺序直译作“中缢虫蝘蜓”[3]。
