Reed Township is one of the fifteen townships of Seneca County, 俄亥俄州, 美国. The 2000 census found 949 people in the township.[3]
地理
[编辑]Located in the eastern part of the county, 与以下镇区接壤：
- Thompson Township - 北
- Sherman Township, Huron County - 北east
- Norwich Township, Huron County - 东南
- Venice Township - 南
- Bloom Township - 南west corner
- Scipio Township - 西
- Adams Township - 北west corner
No municipalities are located in Reed Township, but it does contain the unincorporated community of West Lodi.
Name and history
[编辑]Reed Township named for the Read family of pioneer settlers, although the spelling is different. The township was organized in 1826.[4]
It is the only Reed Township statewide.[5]
Omar Chapel is a historical property in Reed Township which once was a stop on the Underground Railroad. It was completed in 1843 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
政府
[编辑]镇区有3人组成的理事会管理。理事会理事选举在奇数年11月举行，并在来年1月1日开始四年任期。两名理事的选举在总统选举后一年举行，另一名的选举在总统选举前一年举行。镇区财务官亦由选举产生[6]，与一名镇区理事选举同时举行，不过在来年4月1日才开始四年任期。若财务官或理事职位有空缺，将由剩余理事填补。
