Springfield Township is one of the fourteen townships of Mahoning County, 俄亥俄州, 美国. The 2010 census found 6,703 people in the township.[3]
地理
[编辑]Located in the southeastern corner of the county along the Pennsylvania border, 与以下镇区接壤:

- Mahoning Township, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania - 北east corner
- North Beaver Township, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania - 东
- Little Beaver Township, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania - 东南
- Unity Township, Columbiana County - 南
- Fairfield Township, Columbiana County - 南west corner
- Beaver Township - 西
- Boardman Township - 北west
The village of New Middletown is located in central Springfield Township, and two unincorporated communities lie in the township: New Springfield in the south, and Petersburg in the southeast.
Name and history
[编辑]It is one of eleven Springfield Townships statewide.[4]
For many years, the township was part of Columbiana County, before becoming part of Mahoning County in 1846.[5]
政府
[编辑]镇区有3人组成的理事会管理。理事会理事选举在奇数年11月举行,并在来年1月1日开始四年任期。两名理事的选举在总统选举后一年举行,另一名的选举在总统选举前一年举行。镇区财务官亦由选举产生[6],与一名镇区理事选举同时举行,不过在来年4月1日才开始四年任期。若财务官或理事职位有空缺,将由剩余理事填补。
