兩個頂點之間的重邊

在圖論中，重邊（Multiple edges，又稱平行邊或多重邊）是兩條或多條與同一對頂點相連接的邊。簡單圖中沒有重邊。

根據上下文的不同，一個圖可能被定義為允許或不允許擁有重邊（通常與允許或不允許擁有自環一致）：

  • 當允許重邊與自環存在於圖中時，多重圖通常指沒有自環的圖。[1]
  • 當不允許重邊與自環存在於圖中時，多重圖或偽圖通常指允許重邊和自環存在的圖。[2]

例如，從圖論的觀點來看，重邊在研究電路時是有幫助的。[3]此外，重邊可體現出多維網絡中核心差異的特徵。

如果在已經由邊連接的兩個頂點之間添加一條邊，平面圖仍會保持其平面性；因此，增加重邊不改變其平面性。[4]

偶極圖是只有兩個頂點其中所有邊都相互平行的圖。
