Athens PC
Athens PC是微軟於WinHEC 2003上推出的一款概念型個人電腦，由微軟和惠普聯合開發[1][2][3]，這是基於兩家公司於2002年在COMDEX上聯合推出的另一款概念產品「Agora PC」的基礎之上改進而來的產品[4][5]。在這款概念產品所配的23吋寬螢幕液晶顯示器兩旁，分別布有一個電話話筒和一個用於影片通話的網路攝影機，為了減少使用者桌面的線纜，Athens PC配有藍牙滑鼠和使用無線射頻技術連結的鍵盤，且主機只使用一根線同時為顯示器傳輸電源和資料[6][7]，其鍵盤可於停靠在顯示器底座時通過底座充電[8]。使用者可以通過鍵盤上的應答鍵接收到從配設的電話上無線傳輸到Athens PC上的來電[9]。為了使Athens PC能夠具有即時可用性，其被設計為可在兩秒鐘內從待機模式中喚醒，同時其在待機模式下仍可接收到來電[10]。Athens PC是微軟為他們當時仍然在開發的下一代Windows而設計的[11]。據微軟所稱，Athens PC的目標是打造一個具有多裝置互通性和整合性的「通訊和協同運作中心」，以適應下一代聲音、視訊和文字通訊方式[9][12]。雖然比爾·蓋茲曾在此前評價競爭對手蘋果所推出的iMac G3的設計「只在色彩方面暫時領先」，但《連線》雜誌和《紐約時報》都在報導中評價Athens PC在許多方面上都有抄襲蘋果在新款Mac上的設計的嫌疑[13][1]。
