Shōhei KIMURA is an extended confirmed user on the Japanese Wikipedia (check). Created an account on June 8, 2013. And changed my name to the Romanized spelling on April 22, 2016, from "木村翔平". Posting history across all Wikimedia projects. Here are the detailed records that are provided by XTools. Too many deleted pages and edits? Well, here's why! Yep, I'm a heavy ChatGPT user (subscribing), and there was a time when I mistakenly thought its reliability was universally accepted. I didn't even know draft of the guideline (as of September 29, 2024) existed. But now, I'm making sure I never repeat the same mistake again. In reflection, I have decided to call myself a Wikipedia novice for what may be an indefinite period. Foolishly, I once even put myself forward for an administrator role without fully understanding the policies and guidelines, so it's no surprise. --Shohei KIMURA newbie 20:12, 29 September 2024 (UTC)

editing policy (Japanese)

  1. I will not create new articles.
  2. I will not change the amount of information in articles.
  3. I will point out issues with the guidelines.
  4. I mainly monitor requests for comment and other request pages.
  5. I will occasionally improve the readability of article content, but I will not use ChatGPT for this.

concern

While what I am about to mention does not represent an issue for the entire Japanese Wikipedia community, I have always felt a sense of condescension when my mistakes were pointed out within the Japanese Wikipedia community. This is contrary to the guideline. Because of this, I am hesitant to remove the word 'newbie' from my signature (I have included this term since September 30, 2024, UTC+09:00. Addendum: My edit history on the Japanese Wikipedia is too extensive to call myself a "newbie", so I changed it to "learning"). Although I am also a beginner, I pledge to always provide courteous explanations to those who are even less experienced. This is a significant issue for users who value the future of Wikipedia.

In particular, I expect Japan's population to continue declining. There are currently only about 40 administrators on the Japanese Wikipedia. Considering the possibility of a further decrease in administrators, I am concerned that it may become even more difficult for new users to settle in, and that the future of the Japanese Wikipedia may turn into a lawless space.

main activities

  1. Personal development of an open-source cryptocurrency automated trading application (this is a secondary reason for my wiki break).
