《不列顛擲彈兵進行曲》（英語：The British Grenadiers）是一首創作於17世紀的英國陸軍擲彈兵進行曲。該曲是皇家工兵部隊、擲彈兵衛隊、榮譽砲兵連以及皇家燧發槍手軍團的快步行進曲（quick march）。此外，皇家直布羅陀軍團、皇家加拿大砲兵團、加拿大擲彈兵衛隊、皇家加拿大軍團、露易絲公主火槍隊和加拿大第五槍騎兵營也採用不列顛擲彈兵進行曲作為其部隊的官方進行曲。美國野戰炮兵的兵種進行曲的曲調也借用了此曲。

歷史[編輯]

據考證，早於17世紀，一首名為「新巴斯」（The New Path）的樂曲就已經收錄在由當時著名書商約翰·普萊福德（John Playford）出版的舞蹈書籍當中，而該曲也被認為是不列顛擲彈兵進行曲最早的版本[1]。不過，亦有考證認為不列顛擲彈兵進行曲是由荷蘭軍樂「De Jonge Prins van Friesland」（弗里斯蘭的年輕王子）演變而來，因為後者的曲調和前者相似[2]。「弗里斯蘭的年輕王子」一曲曾經在威廉三世執政時期從荷蘭傳入不列顛，至今此曲仍是荷蘭皇儲的進行曲，並經常在皇室檢閱軍隊時演奏。

不論不列顛擲彈兵進行曲曲調的起源是「新巴斯」也好，「弗里斯蘭的年輕王子」也好。這支樂曲首次和不列顛擲彈兵團搭上關係可以追溯到1706年的「擲彈兵進行曲」（The Granadeer's March），而第一份印有歌詞的樂譜則出現在1750年前後[3]。隨著大英帝國的軍事擴張和環球殖民，不列顛擲彈兵進行曲在整個18和19世紀都非常流行。時至今日，該曲仍是一首遠近聞名、載譽於世的軍樂。

在二戰著名的市場花園軍事行動期間，部分英國第一空降師成員據聞用長笛、木棒、鋼盔等簡易的器材充當樂器，在戰場上演奏此曲以激勵同袍的戰鬥意志[4]。

在今天的英國，不列顛擲彈兵進行曲是每年一度的軍旗敬禮分列式（Trooping The Colour）中，負責旌旗操的團前往拿取軍旗、擲彈兵衛隊快步經過檢閱台（Quick March-past）以及擲彈兵衛隊在閱兵完結後快步經過白金漢宮時所演奏的進行曲。此外，皇家騎兵衛隊在閱兵式上護送各部隊軍旗時，軍樂隊也會演奏此曲的前八個小節。

以下的英文歌詞是最為人熟悉的版本，一般認為創作於1702年－1713年西班牙王位繼承戰爭期間，描述並歌頌當時英國擲彈兵無懼危險和犧牲，站在隊列最前線向敵人投擲手榴彈（當時的黑火藥手榴彈威力低下之餘，安全性極差）的英勇表現。
