西印度圣螺（学名：Turbinella angulata），又名西印度铅螺或灯螺，是热带海域一种非常大的海螺，有鳃和螺厣，是拳螺科铅螺属之下的一个腹足纲软体动物的物种[1]。
The name "chank" for the shell of this species is derived from the word shankha, the divine conch or sacred conch, Turbinella pyrum, a closely related species from the Indian Ocean.[2]
分布[编辑]
西印度圣螺分布在西大西洋，由佛罗里达礁岛群及巴哈马南至古巴、多米尼加共和国、牙买加及海地，并墨西哥、伯利兹、洪都拉斯、尼加拉瓜、哥斯达黎加、巴拿马及哥伦比亚的加勒比海海岸[3][4][5][6][7] [8]
栖息地[编辑]
这些在珊瑚礁生活的大型腹足类动物栖于热带海域的潮下带和近海泥地、岩石或沙床，以及红树林潟湖中发现，深度为0至45米[2][5][9][8]。
型态描述[编辑]
西印度圣螺的壳约有12.7—49.6厘米（5.0—19.5英寸）[5][9][7]，平均有36厘米大[3]。这些大壳都很重，作纺缍形。
