卡梅尔（英语：Carmel）是位于美国印第安纳州汉密尔顿县的城市，为州府印第安纳波利斯北侧的卫星城市。卡梅尔以“美国的圆环首都”（Roundabout Capital of the U.S.）知名，因其拥有美国城市中最多的交通圆环（截至2024年3月共有150座）[5]。
卡梅尔在印第安纳波利斯都会区以高教育水准与富裕的地区著称，每户平均收入的中位数约为132,859美元、房子平均价格的中位数为425,900美元[6]。卡梅尔亦经常受到许多财经杂志或网站评比为“全美最佳居住地”[7]、最安全城市之一、以及最佳开启职涯与照顾家庭的地点[8]。在某些社交圈中，更将卡梅尔市称为“中西部的比佛利山庄”[9]。
历史[编辑]
卡梅尔一开始被称为“Bethlehem”，由Daniel Warren、Alexander Mills、John Phelps、Seth Green在1837年建城[10]。城市于1874年更名为卡梅尔市，沿用至今[10]:247。
1924年，美国最先的交通号志之一设置于卡梅尔市Main Street与Rangeline Road的交叉口[11]。
