盔嘴雉属（学名：Mitu，中国大陆作盔嘴雉属，台湾作刀嘴凤冠雉属）为鸡形目凤冠雉科的一个属。[2]本属鸟类分布于南美洲地区，目前下属4个物种。[2]
命名与分类[编辑]
该属是由德国动物学家勒内-普里梅韦勒·莱松于1831年建立的属，其模式种依据重名的关系定为阿拉戈盔嘴雉。[1][3]属名Mitu即来自该物种的种加词，而该词源于图皮语的Mitú、Mutú或Mutúm，意指“黑色（鸟类）”。[4]
