公魚屬（Hypomesus）为胡瓜鱼科下的一個屬，其下五個種均位於北半球。

該屬下有五個種：[2]
- 日本公魚（Hypomesus japonicus (Brevoort, 1856)）
- 西太公魚（Hypomesus nipponensis McAllister, 1963）
- 池沼公魚（Hypomesus olidus (Pallas, 1814)）
- 海公魚（Hypomesus pretiosus (Girard, 1854)）
- 越洋公魚（Hypomesus transpacificus McAllister, 1963）
其中池沼公魚廣泛分佈于亞洲、阿拉斯加和加拿大西北部，而越洋公魚是加利福尼亞州沙加缅度三角洲的瀕危物種。H. chishimaensis原來也是其下的一個種，但後來併入西太公魚下。
