Cross Creek Township is one of the fourteen townships of Jefferson County, 俄亥俄州, 美国. The 2000 census found 8,761 people in the township, 5,643 of whom lived in the unincorporated portions of the township.[3]
地理[编辑]
Located in the central part of the county, it borders the following townships and city:
- Island Creek Township - 北
- Steubenville - 北east
- Steubenville Township - 东
- Wells Township - 南
- Wayne Township - 西
- Salem Township - 北west corner
Northeastern Cross Creek Township is occupied by parts of the city of Steubenville, the county seat of Jefferson County. Villages in the township include part of New Alexandria in the south and part of Wintersville in the north.
Name and history[编辑]
Cross Creek Township was founded in 1806.[4]
It is the only Cross Creek Township statewide.[5]
政府[编辑]
镇区有3人组成的理事会管理。理事会理事选举在奇数年11月举行，并在来年1月1日开始四年任期。两名理事的选举在总统选举后一年举行，另一名的选举在总统选举前一年举行。镇区财务官亦由选举产生[6]，与一名镇区理事选举同时举行，不过在来年4月1日才开始四年任期。若财务官或理事职位有空缺，将由剩余理事填补。
