海伦·达德森·普林斯（英语：Helen Dodson Prince，1905年12月31日—2002年2月4日）是一名美国天文学家，在密歇根大学开创了耀斑研究工作。
早年生活和教育[编辑]
海伦于1905年12月31日出生于马里兰州巴尔的摩，父亲是亨利·克莱·达德森（Henry Clay Dodson），母亲是海伦·沃尔特（Helen Walter）。由于精通物理和数学，普林斯获得古彻学院数学系的全额奖学金，并于1927年在该校获得文学学士学位。在本科学习期间，受弗洛伦斯·P·刘易斯（Florence P. Lewis）的影响，她开始研究天文学。普林斯继续在密歇根大学攻读研究生，并于1932年和1934年分别获得天文学硕士和博士学位。普林斯的博士论文题目是《参宿增十一光谱研究》[1]。

1933年至1945年，普林斯在威尔士利学院担任天文学助理教授。1934年和1935年的夏天，普林斯在玛丽亚·米切尔天文台继续研究参宿增十一的光谱。她的研究成果后来发表在《天文物理期刊》。1938年和1939年的夏天，普林斯在巴黎天文台研究太阳活动时，对太阳活动的兴趣变得更加突出。1943至1945年间，普林斯在麻省理工学院辐射实验室工作，为雷达研究做出重要贡献。二战结束后，她回到古彻学院，1945年至1950年担任天文学教授。1947年，普林斯开始在麦克马斯特-胡尔伯特天文台从事研究工作，最后离开麻省理工学院，成为天文台的副主任，并在密歇根大学担任天文学教授[1][2]。1976年从密歇根大学退休后，普林斯作为荣誉教授一直在天文台工作到1979年[3]。即便如此，从1979年到2002年去世前，普林斯仍是约翰霍普金斯大学应用物理实验室的独立顾问。她的会士资格包括美国天文学会、美国科学促进会和美国地球物理联盟的研究员[4]。
1932年，普林斯获得古彻学院迪恩·范梅特奖学金，1954年获得安妮·坎农天文学奖。1974年，普林斯获得密歇根大学杰出成就奖。在她的职业生涯中，普林斯发表了130多篇期刊论文，其中许多是与E·露丝·赫德曼合著的，大部分是关于太阳耀斑[2][5][6][7]。她在古彻学院的学生包括天文学家南·迪特-康克林和哈丽雅特·H·马利森[8]。
