贾斯汀·奥维尔·施密特（英语：Justin Orvel Schmidt，1947年3月23日—2023年2月18日）是一名美国昆虫学家，也是《昆虫防御：猎物和捕食者的适应机制和策略》（Insect Defenses: Adaptive Mechanisms and Strategies of Prey and Predators）一书的合著者[1]，《野外蛰伤》（The Sting of the Wild）一书的作者[2]，以及施密特叮咬疼痛指数的创造者。施密特曾在亚利桑那州图森的卡尔·海登蜜蜂研究中心研究蜜蜂的营养、化学通讯、生理学、生态学和行为学，2006年成为西南生物研究所的领导并全职投入工作。身为西南生物研究所的研究主任，他研究蚂蚁、黄蜂和蛛形纲动物的化学和行为防御。
施密特因开发出施密特叮咬疼痛指数而获得2015年搞笑诺贝尔奖的生理学和昆虫学奖[3]。全球各大媒体都重点报道了他的研究工作[4][5]。
2023年2月18日，施密特因帕金森氏症并发症在亚利桑那州图森去世，享寿75岁[6][7]。
