蠕形蟎屬（學名：Demodex），又稱毛囊蟎或毛囊蟲，是蠕形蟎科小型寄生蟎蟲的一個屬。 常寄生於哺乳動物的毛囊內。目前已知蠕形蟎有約65個種[2]，140多個亞種；它們都是最小的節肢動物。目前已知有兩種寄生於人類：毛囊蠕形蟎與皮脂腺蠕形蟎，常被稱作「睫毛蟎」（eyelash mites）。蠕形蟎的感染非常常見，幾乎所有人類都有，患者一般也不會出現任何症狀；蠕形蟎偶爾會引發某些皮膚疾病。狗隻身上也有蟎蟲寄生。
語源[編輯]
蠕形蟎屬的學名Demodex源自希臘語的：dēmos（脂肪）＋dēx（木蟲）[3]。

蠕形蟎屬是前氣門亞目Eleutherengona下目Raphignathina小目肉食蟎總科蠕形蟎科之下七個屬之一[4]，包括下列各個物種：

毛囊蠕形蟎與皮脂腺蠕形蟎[編輯]
毛囊蠕形蟎與皮脂腺蠕形蟎是目前在人體上發現的唯一兩種蠕形蟎。毛囊蠕形蟎在1842年由西蒙（Simon）率先詳細描述；皮脂腺蠕形蟎被Akbulatova分離出並加以識別。毛囊蠕形蟎在毛囊內被發現，皮脂腺蠕形蟎則寄生於連接毛囊的皮脂腺內。兩種蠕形蟎都在人臉上被發現——鼻部附近、睫毛與眉毛附近，他們也寄生在身體的其他部位上。
成年蟎類大約只有0.3毫米到0.4毫米長，皮脂腺蠕形蟎略微短於毛囊蠕形蟎。[8]他們有着一個半透明伸長的身體。
