盧卡斯出生於俄羅斯莫斯科，[10]於1997年遷居紐約，[11][12]並在2004年11月12日宣誓成為美國公民。[11]2008年10月，他與交往了8年的男友理查德·溫格結婚，[13]但兩人在2014年離婚。[14]
