Symphony X（以下简称SX）来自美国新泽西州，于1994年由吉他手Michael Romeo组成。风格属于前卫金属。他们分别于1997、2000发行的专辑“The Divine Wings of Tragedy”、“V: The New Mythology Suite”，绝佳的内容使他们成为备受瞩目的重金属乐团。
就音乐上来说，SX常常被拿来与梦剧场、Fates Warning、Pain of Salvation（救赎代价）等乐团做比较，不过简单的辨别方式就是，SX的音乐比较“重”。乐句上常使用切分音，和前卫的风格，并且包括了交响金属的元素在内。浓厚的新古典元素如Yngwie Malmsteen，Randy Rhoads和其他在新古典金属上具有影响力的音乐家，也同时影响着他们的音乐。
