2013年4月26日全國廣播公司宣布續訂格林第三季[1]，第三季將有22集[1]。
2013年6月21日NBC確認第三季將於2013年10月25日開播[8][9]。
7月11日公布了尼克殭屍化的定妝照，Jim Kouf稱[10][11]
復原後會有後續影響他將在很大程度上被改變

在7月20日的動漫展上劇組表示由於拉塞爾·霍斯比的傷尚未痊癒因此在片中也會安排相似劇情讓漢克做康復治療[12]。
