1948年阿什哈巴德地震是1948年10月6日01:12發生在蘇聯土庫曼首府阿什哈巴德西南25km的Gara-Gaudan村的7.3地震，在阿什哈巴德及其附近造成嚴重破壞。當時蘇聯並沒詳細報導這一地震。[3]
土庫曼斯坦未來總統薩帕爾穆拉特·阿塔耶維奇·尼亞佐夫的母親及其他親人死於這場地震，尼亞佐夫因而成為孤兒（其父親死於二戰）。[4]
