杜蘭朵公主是跟據12世紀，波斯詩人Epic Turin Dokht the hook ofHaft Peykar. Work of 12 century Persian poet Nizami.請注意到元朝蒙古人建大元於北京1271年，13世紀，因此，遼代，契丹人建立的王朝及公主可能性較為接近Nizarmi生活的年代背景故事，如果可能查證年代屬實，請維基訂正，至少，元朝公主在時間上不符。
