Monroe Township is one of the twenty-seven townships of Ashtabula County, 俄亥俄州, 美國. The 2010 census found 2,381 people in the township.[3]
地理[編輯]
Located on the northeastern edge of the county, it borders the following townships and city:
- Conneaut - 北
- Conneaut Township, Erie County, Pennsylvania - 北east
- Beaver Township, Crawford County, Pennsylvania - 東南
- Pierpont Township - 南
- Denmark Township - 南west corner
- Sheffield Township - 西
- Kingsville Township - 北west
No municipalities are located in Monroe Township.
Name and history[編輯]
It is one of twenty-two Monroe Townships statewide.[4]
The first settler in Monroe Township was Stephen Moulton, who arrived from New York in 1799.[5]
政府[編輯]
鎮區有3人組成的理事會管理。理事會理事選舉在奇數年11月舉行，並在來年1月1日開始四年任期。兩名理事的選舉在總統選舉後一年舉行，另一名的選舉在總統選舉前一年舉行。鎮區財務官亦由選舉產生[6]，與一名鎮區理事選舉同時舉行，不過在來年4月1日才開始四年任期。若財務官或理事職位有空缺，將由剩餘理事填補。 Currently, the members of the board are John Griggs, Harry Osburn, and Charles Riley.[5]
