Bitbucket是一家為使用Git或Mercurial作為版本控制系統的項目提供代碼託管服務的網站。Bitbucket同時提供商業與免費兩種用戶方案，它為免費用戶提供無限量的私有項目存儲（最多5人同時訪問）。[1]私有倉庫不會顯示在個人頁面，如果用戶只有私有項目，那麼會提示該用戶沒有任何項目存在。Bitbucket是用Python語言寫成的，使用Django作為網頁框架。[2]
歷史
[編輯]Bitbucket曾是一個自主創業項目，2010年9月29日，Bitbucket獲得了Atlassian的風險投資。[3]
Bitbucket was previously an independent startup. On September 29th, 2010, Bitbucket was acquired by VC-funded Atlassian.[3] Initially, Bitbucket only offered hosting support for Mercurial projects. On October 3rd, 2011, Bitbucket officially announced support for Git hosting.[4]
Logo
[編輯]The original symbol on the sticker of the bucket is the alchemical and planetary symbol for Mercury, and refers to Bitbucket hosting Mercurial repositories. The contents of the blue bucket is mercury metal.
When Bitbucket announced Git support, the sticker icon switched to be the primary logo of Atlassian.
