肯索里努斯陨石坑(Censorinus)是位于月球正面赤道附近一座明亮的小撞击坑,其名称取自公元三世纪古罗马文法学家及杂文作家"肯索里努斯"(Censorinus),1935年被国际天文学联合会批准接受。
描述
该陨坑位于静海东南高地区,西南毗邻托里切利陨石坑、东北靠近马斯基林陨石坑(Maskelyne)、南面则是依西多禄陨石坑[1]。该陨坑中心月面坐标为0°25′S 32°41′E / 0.42°S 32.69°E,直径4.1公里[2],深约0.712公里[3]。
肯索里努斯陨石坑边缘明显环绕着一圈高反照率地层,当太阳高照时显得尤为突出,它是月球正面最耀眼的地貌之一。在幽暗的月海背景衬托下,陨坑放射状地向四周散发出明亮的条纹。
该陨坑坑沿尖峭,坑壁隆起,内侧壁平整光洁,整体形状类似圆杯形,坑壁平均高出周边地形150米[4],内部容积约2.76公里³[4]。月球轨道器拍摄的特写图像显示,沿外侧坡布满了许多巨大的岩石,陨坑附近地表为撞击喷发物堆积形成的丘状地形,该陨坑没有其它的典型地貌结构。
肯索里努斯陨石坑附近区域曾一度被考虑作为早期阿波罗飞船的降落点[5]。
