皮蒂斯楚斯环形山(Vlacq)是位于月球正面南半部一座大而深邃的古老撞击坑,约形成于39.2-38.5亿年前的酒海纪[1],其名称取自十六世纪德国数学家暨天文学家"巴托洛梅乌斯·皮蒂斯楚斯"(Bartholomaeus Pitiscus,1561年-1613年),1935年被国际天文学联合会批准接受。

该陨坑西侧靠近伊德勒陨石坑(Ideler)、西北毗邻斯帕兰扎尼陨石坑(Spallanzani)、多佛陨石坑(Dove)位于它的北面、东北坐落着洛克伊尔陨石坑和让桑环形山、 而佛拉哥环形山矗立在它的东南,东南偏南和西南偏南则分别横亘着霍梅尔环形山(Hommel)和阿斯克勒皮陨石坑(Rosenberger)[3]。该陨坑中心月面坐标为50°37′S 30°34′E / 50.61°S 30.57°E,直径79.9公里[4],深度4.63公里[5]。
皮蒂斯楚斯环形山大致呈现圆形状,受侵蚀程度中等,东南偏南侧有一处向外的小突角,里面已坍塌下陷。陨坑坑壁边缘清晰,内侧壁仍显示有阶地状的结构痕迹,靠西北覆盖了数座小撞击坑,西南侧则嵌入了卫星坑"皮蒂斯楚斯 E",而它的东南内壁上也覆盖了一座更小的陨坑。皮蒂斯楚斯环形山的坑壁高出周边地形1370米[1],内部容积约6300公里3[1]。坑内地表相对平坦,可能已被玄武岩熔岩重塑。坑底中心坐落了一座由钙长石(A)和含85-90%斜长石的辉长岩-苏长岩-橄长岩长岩(GNTA1)及含80-85%斜长石的辉长岩-苏长岩-橄长岩长岩(GNTA2)组成的双峰岭[6]。它的北端覆盖了卫星坑"皮蒂斯楚斯 A"-一座已坍塌且略不规则的圆形小撞击坑。从双峰岭的南面延伸出一道直抵南侧内壁的蜿蜒低矮的山脊。皮蒂斯楚斯环形山已被月球和行星观测协会(ALPO)列入《带有明亮射纹系统的撞击坑列表》[7]。
