策（γ Cas / 仙后座γ）是仙后座的爆发变星，属于二十八宿中的奎宿，北天星空的主要亮星之一，其星等不规则地变化于+2.20到+3.40之间，它是仙后座γ型变星的原型。其名“策”意为“鞭”，它并没有传统的阿拉伯名字或拉丁名字。它位于组成仙后座"W"形的中部。美国航天员Virgil Ivan Grissom 把这颗恒星昵称为他中名倒过来的形式:Navi。该星常用作太空任务中易区分的导航参考。^[11]

策在1937年视星等为+2.2，1940年为+3.4，1949年为+2.9，1965年为+2.7，当前为+2.15。在该星最亮时，其亮度超过仙后座α (+2.25)和仙后座β (+2.3)。

策是一颗快速旋转地恒星，在赤道部位凸起。再加上它很高的光度，使得它有巨大的质量损耗并在恒星周围形成一个盘状环。其物质流出和亮度变化看起来是由于环引起的。

策是一颗分光双星，绕行周期约为204天，离心率从0.26到“接近0”。据信其伴星的质量与太阳类似。^[12]^[13]
