HD 23079是网罟座中一颗距离地球大约114光年的恒星。因为它的视星等只有7.1，肉眼无法看到它，但是用双筒望远镜就很容易观测到。它的光谱分类是F8或G0，也就是一颗主序星。这颗恒星比太阳更大更重。它是典型的可能有行星的恒星，即第一星族星，金属量为–0.24dex（太阳的58%）。它的年龄为65.3亿岁，比太阳大一些。
