秘鲁巨人蜈蚣（学名：Scolopendra gigantea）是世界上最大的蜈蚣。栖息于南美洲与加勒比地区，平均长度为30厘米（12英寸）[1]，有的个体甚至能长到38 cm（15英寸）[2]。以节肢动物、两栖类、哺乳动物与爬虫类为食[3]。
栖息与分布地区[编辑]
秘鲁巨人蜈蚣分布于南美洲北方，曾经采集过的样本地区包括阿鲁巴、古拉索、哥伦比亚、委内瑞拉（含玛格丽塔岛）与特立尼达岛[1]。来自圣托马斯岛、海地、多米尼加、墨西哥、波多黎各、洪都拉斯的样本则认为是标签错误或是意外入侵[1]。
秘鲁巨人蜈蚣栖息于热带与亚热带雨林以及热带季节干旱林。
行为与食性[编辑]
秘鲁巨人蜈蚣为肉食动物，以其他无脊椎动物（包括大型昆虫、蜘蛛、马陆、蝎子，甚至是捕鸟蛛）与其他小型脊椎动物为食，包括蜥蜴、青蛙（最大体长95mm）、蛇（最大体长25cm）、麻雀大小的鸟类、老鼠、蝙蝠[3]。大型个体透过倒吊于洞穴天花板上捕捉飞过的蝙蝠[3]
