泥
生物与生态[编辑]
泥蚬科物种是双壳纲物种在淡水环境生活的三大分支之下，标志着双壳纲软体动物从海洋迁往淡水环境栖息的过程[7]。 本科物种皆为雌雄间性（hermaphrodites），在体内受精。 幼体为卵胎生（ovoviviparity），会在母体内先孵化再离开，其初生形态形同其成年形态的迷你版本[6]。
泥蚬科物种的寄生虫有沼蝇科（Sciomyzidae，属家蝇下目）的幼虫：这些幼虫同时也是蚬只的捕食者，会在成长时将泥蚬的肉吃掉[8]。

本科各属除了Eupera属 Bourguignat, 1854独自属于Euperinae亚科[11][12]以外，馀下的属组成泥蚬亚科（Sphaeriinae Deshayes, 1855 (1820)），包括下列分布于全球的七个属[13][7][14]：

- Cyclocalyx Dall, 1903
- Euglesa Jenyns, 1832
- Musculium Link, 1807[12]
- Odhneripisidium Kuiper, 1962
- 豌豆蚬属 Pisidium C. Pfeiffer, 1821[12]
- 泥蚬属 Sphaerium Scopoli, 1777[12]
