本表列出1976年后的美国少年死刑犯名单。这份名单列出的是“犯案时未达法定成年年龄，尚为青少年”的死刑犯。美国曾在1972年一度废除死刑，但后来又在1976年恢复这个制度[1]。当时美国最高法院宣告各州的死刑法规违宪，却引来国会和35个州议会抵制，重修死刑法规，1976年获最高法院认同，美国再度有了死刑制度[2]。

美国在1976年后死刑法规虽仍有改变（2002年，将智能障碍者处死为违宪），但终止处死少年犯却一直要等到2005年的罗珀诉西蒙斯案（Roper v. Simmons），最高法院宣布处死少年犯为违宪为止。在1976年至2005年间，美国一共处死了22名少年犯，而且这22人都是男生[3]。其中21位是在17岁时犯罪，只有肖恩·塞勒斯（Sean Sellers）的犯罪年龄是16岁。

美国最早在1642年就有处死少年犯的案例，当时美国还是英国的十三州殖民地。1642年，16岁的托马斯·格朗格（Thomas Graunger）因兽交罪被判死刑，在普利茅斯殖民地被处死[4]。1786年12月20日，美国绞死独立以来所处死年纪最小的罪犯，汉娜·阿库希，被处死时年仅12岁[5]。19世纪时的美国法官大多不愿处死14岁以下的少年犯，但还是有两名年幼少年犯。其中一名黑人少年犯没有在史书上留下名字，另一名是詹姆斯·亚森，犯案时年仅10岁[6]。到了20世纪时，美国已经很少有年幼的少年死刑犯，此时年纪最小的少年死刑犯是小福琼·弗格森（Fortune Ferguson, Jr.），被处决时只有13岁；其次是乔治·史丁尼，死亡时只有14岁。而其他93%的少年死刑犯犯罪时是16岁或17岁[7]。

从这些死刑记录可以发现，非洲裔美国人占少年死刑犯的大多数，殖民地和独立后300多年来，有三分之二的少年死刑犯是黑人，而且越往南方的州份所占的比例越重[7]。从罪名来看，80%因谋杀罪被处死，其馀是因强暴或强暴未遂被处死。

2005年，美国最高法院以5-4票确定依据宪法第八修正案，对犯罪时未满18岁的罪犯判处死刑为违宪。终结美国处决少年犯的历史[8]。
