空中學校（英語：School of the Air）是澳大利亞對函授學校的統稱，它們為澳大利亞內陸及偏遠地區的兒童提供初級和中級教育服務。過去這種教育服務主要通過無線電廣播實現，而現在則採用電話或互聯網技術。之所以在這些地區提供此類服務是由於當地學齡人口太少而無法滿足傳統形式學校的生存。
發展歷史[編輯]
阿爾弗雷德·特雷格在1929年發明了腳踏式收音機，[1] 以及教育家阿德萊克·米瑟克在參與制定和發展現有皇家飛行醫生服務的無線電通訊服務，這些都對澳大利亞建立空中學校奠定了重要基礎。[2]
1951年6月8日，艾利斯斯普林斯皇家飛行醫生服務中心正式發送了第一節空中學校課程。[3] 2001年5月9日，空中學校在其金禧紀念日6月8日之前進行了服務創辦50周年的慶典；2021年6月8日，它又慶祝了其服務創辦70周年。
