首音互換首音誤置spoonerism)原指將英文詞彙中的兩個字詞之元音輔音語素調換之現象,例如將「The Lord is a loving shepherd」(主乃慈愛之牧)中「loving」與「shepherd」的聲母(「l」及「sh」)調換,唸成「The Lord is a shoving leopard」(主乃推撞之豹)。首音誤置可以是故意玩弄文字之舉,亦可以是無意中產生的錯誤,常會產生意想不到的詼諧效果。

類似spoonerism的首音誤置現象除在英文出現外,於世上不少語言亦會發生。

語源[編輯]

首音誤置的英文名稱「spoonerism」源於在19世紀末至20世紀初先後擔任牛津大學新學院院長及舍監的施本納英語William Archibald Spooner牧師(Revd. William Archibald Spooner,1844-1930),[1]施氏說話時經常不經意地誤置句內詞語的語素,因此後人以其姓氏命名首音誤置現象。[2][3]

首音誤置現象在英語圈中亦有「marrowsky」一名,據傳是以一患有與施本納牧師同樣問題的波蘭伯爵命名。[4]
