馬腹一（半人馬座β，簡稱Beta Cen、β Cen）[11]是一顆視星等為0.61的恆星，位於半人馬座。其為恆星亮度列表中第12亮的恆星，亦是該星座第二亮的恆星（第一為南門二）。不過據現代觀測手段，馬腹一實為由多顆恆星組成的恆星系統。據依巴谷衛星所測量的視差計算[12][13]，該系統距太陽系約為390光年（120秒差距）[1]。

人們常用馬腹一來尋找南十字座，進而確定方位。其與南門二所組成的連線指向南十字座的頂端——十字架一，而十字架一與十字架的底端——十字架二所組成的連線則指向南天極[14]。

該天體於北緯30°以北均不可見。在中國只有部分南方省市能夠觀測到，其最佳觀測時間為4月至5月[15]。

名稱[編輯]

在古代中國，因該星為星官「馬腹」的第一顆星，由此而得名馬腹一[16]。

在近代西方，依據拜耳命名法命名規則，其名為半人馬座β（英語：Beta Centauri）。

在阿拉伯世界，人們冠以其「哈達爾」之名（阿拉伯語：حضار‎），「哈達爾」之詞根意指「存在」、「大地上」或「安定、文明的地區」[17]，亦有天文學家指出該名字可能由來於「哈達爾」升起至地平線以上的高度過低[9]。2016年，由國際天文聯會組建的IAU恆星名稱工作組[18]將「哈達爾」列為馬腹一的標準名稱之一[11]。

馬腹一由三顆恆星組成，分別為半人馬座β Aa、Ab和B。

1935年，荷蘭天文學家約昂·福特（英語：Joan Voûte）首先確認了伴星半人馬座β B，並為其編號為VOU 31。該伴星的視星等為4，可能是一顆B1 Ⅴ型矮星[3]，其與主星的距離為1.3"，繞行周期約為288.267年[7]。

1967年，天文學家觀測到馬腹一主星的徑向速度呈周期性變化，因而推測其為雙譜分光雙星。這一推測後於1999年得到證實，馬腹一主星分別由半人馬座β Aa和Ab組成，其公轉周期約為357天，軌道離心率為0.8254[19]。而後在2005年的計算中得出該聯星之間的距離約為4個天文單位[20]。

半人馬座β Aa和Ab皆為B1 Ⅲ型巨星，由主序星經恆星演化而來[20]，並且均屬於仙王座β型變星，脈動周期約為3.768小時[21]。
