南極甲蟎（學名：Alaskozetes antarcticus）是一種非寄生的蟎，可在零下的溫度下存活[1]。
本種屬的學名來自其棲地阿拉斯加，種小名則表示其亦生長於南極，皆為低溫寒冷的環境。大多數節肢動物都生活在炎熱潮濕的環境中，但是南極甲蟎卻在寒冷且濕度極低的條件下生存，目前尚不清楚南極甲蟎如何能夠適應與其他節肢動物不同的環境。[1]。本種有三個亞種，分別是A. antarcticus antarcticus、A. antarcticus grandjeani與A. antarcticus intermedius[2]。
飲食[編輯]
本種以苔蘚、藻類與真菌為食，不像其他蟎蟲會吸血，故對人類和大型動物無害[3]。
